Some information about the Preluber system: it is basically an oil pump that will pressurize the oil system to 55PSI for 60seconds before you start the car up to avoid oil starvation on startup. The Turbo Preluber system has, in addition, a different controller that will also allow 5min turbo cooldown with the pump. This means that you can shut down the engine, while the preluber oil pump continues to circulate oil through the system for 5min. This works a lot better than a turbo timer because: 1) your engine does not need to idle 2) since the oil pressure is 55PSI so the oil cooler will be in the loop. In addition, the preluber oil pump can be used to excavate oil for easier oil changes, and will also help prevent dry starts (especially for turbos) after an oil change. Unfortunately, the price is high ($600 for the Turbo Preluber system), and installation is difficult due to lack of space (one installation I head of required relocating the battery). However, I just noticed that a new compact pump is available that measures just 5.5in. long 4 wide and 3 high. I have not taken any measurements to see where that might fit, but I think with stainless steel braided lines (to avoid kinking), it may be placed in the front near the oil cooler; alternatively, if you do not have a big wattage stereo, there may be space if you switch to a smaller battery (the platinum max B700P battery is just 14lb, half the width of the standard battery, and provides 700CCA). I just contacted the manufacturer, and the price and operation of this compact pump will be the same as the original pump. They said they are also willing to consider group buy discounts. So this is a preliminary poll of how many people may be interested in the system... with some numbers, I can contact the manufacturer for an idea of how much discount we can expect.
